Addis Ababa: The Afar Regional State Diaspora Office has called on Ethiopian Diasporas who are visiting the region to strengthen their participation in the development of the region.

Members of Ethiopian Diasporas are visiting factories and development projects in Semera, the capital city of Afar Regional State.

Speaking at the panel discussion with the diaspora visiting the region, Afar Region Diaspora Office Head, Geas Ahmed said attention has been given to encourage the people of Afar and friends to actively engage in economic and social activities of the region.

For this, an office has been established and the diaspora have increased their participation in the development of the country, he added.

According to the head, the aim of the special visit and panel program organized for the first time in the region is to enhance the involvement of the diaspora in the region.

During their visit, he revealed that the diasporas will visit factories, the expanding wheat fields in the region as well as other dev
elopment projects, including the Green Legacy.
