New York (United Nations) – Head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, on Wednesday took part in a working lunch on the Paris Pact for People and the Planet, organized at the UN headquarters in New York at the initiative of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Special Envoy of the Pact, Macky Sall.
This working meeting was marked by the presence of several heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international financial institutions.
Morocco joined the Paris Pact for People and the Planet initiative in 2023, thus underlining its commitment to contribute to the operationalization of this initiative, as part of collective efforts in favor of more inclusive and more just global governance.
Established at the Paris Summit for a New Global Financial Pact in June 2023, the Paris Pact aims to facilitate access to international financing for the countries most vulnerable to climate change to enable them to better respond to climate challenges, within the framework of more b
alanced international governance.
