Marrakech – Morocco is a global model in security and major events’ management, said on Wednesday in marrakech, Falah Abdulla Al-Dosari, Director General of the ‘Stadia’ project at the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

‘The Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment to international cooperation, particularly in security and managing major events, is a model for the entire world,’ Al-Dosari told the press on the sidelines of a two-day workshop held by the Interpol through its Stadia project, in coordination with the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN).

In this context, he pointed out that choosing Morocco to host this workshop stems from the Kingdom’s constant will to host more international events in the future, reflecting the growing capacity of MENA countries to organize high-profile events of global scope, and their position as a major hub for similar events.

In this respect, Al-Dosari highlighted the need to strengthen security cooperation in the region, not only to ensure the
security of such events, but also to guarantee their sustainability and success at a global level.

The workshop, part of the Kingdom’s membership of the Interpol-sponsored Stadia project, covers several topics relating to the security of major sporting events, including a review of security and safety standards when organizing international and continental football matches, mechanisms for exchanging and using information on event security, techniques for coordinating security representatives, the role of international security cooperation mechanisms in coordinating sports event organizers, and Moroccan experience in the field of sports event security.

This international workshop also aims to support Morocco’s organization of the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup in a joint edition with Spain and Portugal, by helping to build the capacities of national security personnel in the fields of major event organization.
