Loroum Annual Pedagogical Conference Focuses on Curriculum Reforms for CEB I Teachers

Loroum: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Titao, Sidiki Ganame, inaugurated the annual pedagogical conference for teachers from the Basic Education District (CEB) of Titao I. The conference, which commenced on Wednesday, October 15, aims to familiarize teachers with recent curriculum reforms. The event was attended by the regional director responsible for education in Yaadga, Pascal Waongo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony took place in front of a large gathering of primary and preschool teachers and supervisors from the Titao I Basic Education District (CEB). The President of the special delegation, Sidiki Ganame, conveyed the message from the Minister in charge of Basic Education, emphasizing the continuation of reforms for a more inclusive and globally competitive educational system.

One of the key aspects of the reform discussed was the gradual introduction of English language teaching, which will now extend to CE2, CM1, and CM2 levels from the current school year. Ganame highlighted the importance of preparing children for a competitive global environment and underscored the need for the creation and management of school councils to foster genuine dialogue.

The conference, which spans four days, will focus on equipping preschool and primary school teachers with the skills needed for the implementation of educational reforms and the appropriation of integration situations. Addressing the issue of overcrowded classrooms due to inadequate infrastructure, Ganame expressed optimism about the positive changes brought by the increase in municipal revenue, which he believes will help address educational challenges.

Regional director Pascal Waongo commended the strong participation of teachers in these experience-sharing sessions, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in national development. “Burkina Faso depends on what you undertake as a task, as a duty. The contribution of each of us contributes to the development of the Nation,” he stated.
