Addis Ababa: Government Communication Service Minister, Legese Tulu said Ethiopia gained experience in urban development besides strengthening bilateral relations during the visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his delegation to Malaysia.
Recall that PM Abiy and his delegation visited Malaysia after the conclusion of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia.
During the visit, Premier Abiy and his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim held discussion about bilateral issues.
Briefing the media regarding the visit, Government Communication Service Minister Legese Tulu noted Malaysia is growing fast.
The country is pursuing effective and diverse economy mainly based on industry, agriculture and mining sectors, he observed.
Malaysia has great experience mainly in the production of palm oil, tire, and environmental protection, the minister pointed out.
He stated that the two Prime Ministers have also discussed on ways of strengthening trade ties.
Moreover, the leaders widely discussion on favorable investment
opportunities in the two countries and Malaysian companies are invited to engage in favorable investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on his part prized the reforms carrying out in Ethiopia and expressed firm commitment to strengthen the bilateral relations.
Furthermore, Abiy extended invitation to the Malaysian Prime Minister to visit Ethiopia.
PM Abiy and his delegation also visited Malaysia’s integrated economic and environmental protection activities that can also be taken as an experience for the wide-ranging environmental protection work Ethiopia is undertaking, Legese pointed out.
Malaysia carried out successful corridor development integrated with trade and tourism areas in its capital Kuala Lumpur, Legese noted, adding this will also provide lesson for the corridor development works in Ethiopian cities.
In this regard, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his delegation visited the corridor development activities in the Malaysian capital city allocating sufficient
time, he stated.
