Tarkwa Nsuaem: This year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) started without any hitches in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region, with a total of 4,732 candidates taking part. The candidates, consisting of 2,292 boys and 2,447 girls, were drawn from 71 public schools and 64 private schools.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Catherine Biney, Municipal Director of Education for Tarkwa Nsuaem, stated during a tour of the twelve centers that pupils were seated at 8:00 am, and the examination commenced at 9:00 am. Invigilators were present at various centers to oversee the proceedings. At the Tarkwa Senior High School center, all 415 registered candidates were noted to be writing the examination during the team’s visit.
Mrs. Biney reassured parents and stakeholders that the municipal education directorate had made the necessary arrangements to ensure the examination proceeded successfully. She also advised candidates to avoid engaging in any malpractices, warning that being caught could have adverse effects on their education and future prospects.
