Lagos: American Tower Corporation (ATC) Nigeria and ProFuturo Foundation have launched a partnership to transform the educational landscape through digital innovation and technology, directly impacting over 5,600 children and educators across 11 schools in three Nigerian states.

According to African Press Organization, this collaboration is a significant part of a broader global partnership between American Tower and ProFuturo Foundation. The initiative aims to reduce gaps in access, use, and quality of educational resources in seven countries across Africa and Latin America. ATC Nigeria, a leading provider of telecommunications infrastructure, and ProFuturo Foundation, a global initiative for educational innovation, have joined forces with the Kukah Centre under the ProFuturo Program in Nigeria. The collaboration will distribute educational kits containing computers, tablets, routers, projectors, and other essential components to enhance digital access and learning opportunities for students.

Pieter Van Der Westhuizen, CEO of ATC Nigeria, expressed pride in supporting this initiative, highlighting its role in bringing digital tools directly into classrooms. He noted that the collaboration expands access to technology and equips the next generation with essential digital skills. Similarly, Magdalena Brier, General Manager of ProFuturo Foundation, emphasized the partnership’s role in addressing the digital divide and improving educational opportunities for vulnerable communities. She expressed honor in receiving support from ATC Nigeria, underscoring the transformative impact on teachers and students.

The initiative, initially focusing on schools in Kano, Kebbi, and Tarabata, aims to bridge educational disparities in areas with limited connectivity. By equipping schools with digital kits, the partnership seeks to enrich learning experiences, support interactive teaching methods, and provide students access to extensive digital educational content.
