Ketu South: Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region, has pledged to provide financial support to pupils who excel in the ongoing 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to Ghana News Agency, the MP commended the BECE candidates for their endurance during the period of Basic Education and noted that the crucial final examination would determine and reshape them for the future. In her goodwill message to the BECE candidates in the Ketu South Municipality, Madam Gomashie, who is also the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, announced that GHC50,000 would be set aside to reward students achieving single aggregate results in the examination.
Madam Gomashie stated that the gesture aims to motivate the students to work harder and strive for excellence in their exams. She emphasized that this initiative would encourage and awaken the spirit of learning among the candidates.
She highlighted the challenges faced by many students today, such as peer pressure, economic realities, and the influences of social media. Madam Gomashie urged the candidates to remain focused and committed to their studies despite these challenges for a brighter future.
Madam Gomashie reiterated that education is an important tool for growth and development, opening doors to greater opportunities and enabling individuals to take charge of their destiny. She encouraged parents, teachers, and the general public to support all candidates physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically for a successful examination.
She advised students to obey all examination rules and regulations, avoid distractions, and concentrate on their studies. She also wished the candidates good luck and prayed for God’s guidance and protection during the examination period.
Madam Gomashie appealed to invigilators and supervisors to maintain a high level of professionalism and avoid intimidation and maltreatment that could instill fear and panic in the candidates.
Some BECE candidates expressed optimism and pledged to excel in the exams, viewing the MP’s financial support as a positive gesture demonstrating her commitment to their future success.
The Ghana News Agency also reported that 4,168 candidates in Ketu South Municipality would sit for the 2025 BECE, commencing on June 11 and ending on June 18. The MP’s pledge of support is expected to boost the candidates’ confidence and motivation to achieve their goals.
