A 51-year-old man residing in the Nkolmitag neighborhood-Douala has allegedly impregnated his 13-year-old daughter and disappeared into thin air when the news spread in the quarter.
Neighbors said the man has been sexually abusing his daughter from when she was eight years old.
‘Her mother was aware of all what was happening but ignored. It’s five years now.’ A neighbour revealed.
‘He explained to his mother the abominable act he witnessed but she shouted at him and sent him away.’ The neighbour revealed that her elder brother once caught them.
News of the pregnancy spread like wild flames in Nkolmitag when the parents discreetly took the little girl to a clinic in the quarter for an abortion. Personnel of the clinic refused to flush out the foetus. Gossip at the clinic navigated into the neighborhood and left the inhabitants in shocked.
‘Her elder brother said it was a woman who sat next to them in church who noticed pregnancy symptoms manifested by his younger sister and told them she is pregnant. It’
s from there they conceived the notion of abortion.’ Same neighbour narrated.
Unable to bear the disgrace and withstand insults from the local inhabitants, the mother left their home to a different place.
A resident advised no ‘one should be trusted. Watch over your children’.
A manhunt has been launched to pull the 51-year-old man out of hiding.
