OST Enhances Health Awareness Among Safane Public Employees

Mouhoun: A mission from the Workers’ Health Office (OST), led by general practitioner Dr. Kader G. Kone, visited Safane, in the Mouhoun province, on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21, 2025, for the periodic medical examination of state employees working in the municipality. The initiative, which focuses on health, responsibility, and civic-mindedness, aims to promote professional well-being and the prevention of illnesses in the workplace.

According to Burkina Information Agency, for two days, OST teams carried out a complete health check of the town hall’s officials and agents, in accordance with the requirements of regular medical monitoring in force in the Civil Service. These tests focused on blood pressure, blood sugar, vision, as well as the screening of common pathologies linked to professional stress or a sedentary lifestyle.

The President of the special delegation (PDS) of Safane, Ali Traore, welcomed this initiative, which he described as a salutary gesture in favor of a local administration more aware of the importance of medical monitoring. He called on all workers to adopt a preventive and responsible attitude towards their health, a guarantee of sustainable professional performance.

For the head of the OST service in Dedougou, Dr. Kader G. Kone, this campaign is part of the OST’s sovereign mission, which consists of ensuring regular monitoring of the health of public employees in order to prevent occupational diseases and promote a healthy working environment. He stressed the need for each agent to consider the medical examination not as an administrative formality, but as a real investment in their health and career.

The attendance recorded over these two days demonstrates a growing interest among workers in occupational health issues. This mobilization, according to the mission, reflects a collective awareness of the need to preserve human capital, the essential driving force of public action.

The OST intends to contribute through this operation to strengthening the culture of prevention and health civic-mindedness and to fully participate in the re-establishment of an efficient public administration, where the well-being of workers remains a national priority.
