Wenchi: Mr. Amos Twene, the Headmaster of Old-Mframa Municipal Assembly Basic School in the Bono Region, has made an appeal for the construction of a Kindergarten (KG) block. He highlighted the school’s current arrangement of converting the staff common room into a KG block due to an increasing number of pupils.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Twene explained in an interview at Old-Mframa that the lack of a dedicated KG block has forced teachers to conduct their work under tree shades. This includes setting and marking questions, as well as managing other student assignments. Despite these challenges, Mr. Twene expressed gratitude to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) for their contribution in constructing a six-unit classroom block for the school, but he emphasized the pressing need for a KG block.
Mr. Twene stated that the current situation is not favorable for the teachers and urged non-governmental and philanthropic organizations, along with affluent individuals in the region, to support the school’s efforts. He also raised concerns regarding the insufficiency of desks and other essential teaching and learning materials.
