Ahamansu: Iseguri Initiative, a Kadjebi-based non-governmental organisation, has donated soursop seedlings to the pupils of Ahamansu E.P Primary School as part of the 2025 World Environment Day celebrations, encouraging them to plant and nurture the trees.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Raymond Senanu Buami, Project Coordinator of the Iseguri Initiative, presented the seedlings at Ahamansu in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region. He mentioned that the initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and motivate pupils to participate in tree planting activities. Mr. Buami emphasized that this effort is intended to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among the students while also providing nutritious fruit for both the pupils and the community.
Mr. Buami highlighted that the NGO is targeting school children with the tree planting message to instill these values from a young age. The pupils expressed their excitement and committed to nurturing the plants to ensure they grow and eventually bear fruit.
World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5, serves as a global platform for raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging action for the protection of the environment.
