Sefwi Akontombra: Mr. Pius Kwame Nkuah, Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra in the Western North Region, has made a significant contribution to education by donating 1,407 mathematical sets to the Akontombra Education Directorate. These sets are intended for distribution to candidates set to take the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, the distribution covered both public and private schools within two area zones in the Akontombra District. Mr. Joseph Appiah, the District Chief Executive for Sefwi Akontombra, presented the mathematical sets on behalf of the MP. In an interview, he stated that 892 sets were allocated to the Sefwi-Nsawora Zonal Council, while the remaining 515 sets were designated for the Akontombra area zone.
Mr. Appiah noted that the donation reflects the MP’s dedication to education in the district. He urged the candidates to excel in their studies as the examination date approaches. He emphasized the MP’s passion for supporting educational initiatives, particularly for the younger generation in the constituency.
The Member of Parliament’s initiative aims to promote academic excellence in the Akontombra District and empower students to achieve greater success. Mr. Appiah assured continued annual support for the candidates.
Mr. Benjamin Asiedu, the Sefwi Akontombra District Director of Education, expressed gratitude towards the MP and the DCE for their efforts to enhance education in the district. He committed to ensuring the swift distribution of the mathematical sets to assist candidates in their exams.
A total of 1,393 candidates are expected to sit for the BECE in the Akontombra District on Wednesday, 11th June 2025.
