Accra: Police have seized 120 slabs of suspected narcotic drugs following a sting operation that led to the arrest of Ernest Mohammed Adjiri. Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended Adjiri, who had concealed the substances in fertiliser sacks aboard a taxicab.

According to Ghana News Agency, the National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service carried out the specialised intelligence operation, resulting in Adjiri’s arrest in the Greater Accra Region. Police retrieved 120 slabs of compressed dried leaves, concealed in three fertiliser sacks aboard a Hyundai i10 taxi, registration number GW 9832-22.

‘The suspect during interrogation admitted ownership of the items,’ the statement added. Adjiri remains in police custody and will be put before court, it noted.
