Tano South MCE Encourages Girls to Prioritize Discipline and Education

Techimantia: Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region, has urged girls to be disciplined and abstain from pre-marital sex, emphasizing the importance of focusing on their education.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Frimpong highlighted that discipline is essential for unlocking the potential of young girls, offering them a better future for themselves and their families. He encouraged them to prioritize their studies and dedicate time to reading.

Mr Frimpong delivered this message at a forum organized by the Girl Child Unit of the Tano South Municipal Directorate of Education. The event was held in Techimantia to celebrate this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day, with participation from girls attending basic schools in the area.

During the forum, Mr Frimpong spoke on the significance of menstrual hygiene, noting its crucial role in improving the health and school attendance of girls. To support this, he presented sanitary pads for distribution among the girls, aligning with the government’s ‘Free Sanitary Pad Initiative’.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting girl-child education and ensuring that no girl is excluded from formal education due to a lack of menstrual hygiene products. Mr Frimpong praised the efforts of the Girl Child Education Unit for organizing the forum and assured the Assembly’s continued support for initiatives that promote the well-being and education of girls in the municipality.

Miss Agnes Amihere, the Tano South Municipal Director of Education, also addressed the girls, advising them to stay focused and aim for academic success. She cautioned against deviant behaviors that could impede their progress.
