Juaboso: The Juaboso District Assembly, in collaboration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), is preparing to initiate a large-scale registration drive for motorcycles and tricycles in the district. Mr. Alexander Adu Quist, the Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), emphasized the importance of this initiative in an interview.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Quist explained that the registered motorcycles and tricycles would receive distinct number plates to set them apart from regular vehicles, a move aimed at boosting revenue for the Assembly. This registration exercise is also set to provide the DVLA and the Assembly with precise data regarding the number of these vehicles and their operators within the district.
The DCE highlighted that the initiative would go beyond mere registration, serving as an opportunity to implement comprehensive road safety training programs for motorbike and tricycle riders. As part of the registration process, badges will be affixed to the vehicles, signifying their official approval for use by both the Assembly and the DVLA.
Mr. Quist called on the owners of motorcycles and tricycles to ensure they have the necessary documentation ready for a smooth registration process.
