Lom©: The twelfth Strategic Orientation Committee of the ECOWAS Regional Agency for Agriculture and Food (RAAF) convened in Lom©, Togo, to evaluate the activities and financial execution of 2024. The meeting, held on 2 May 2025, focused on reviewing the 2024 activity report and planning the financial agenda for the upcoming year.

According to African Press Organization, this governance body serves as a critical platform for accountability, experience sharing, and strategic direction. RAAF, responsible for coordinating the implementation of projects under the Regional Agricultural Policy (ECOWAP), presented two key reports: the 2024 activity report and the 2025 budget, along with the financial report for the year 2024.

The meeting highlighted significant challenges during the 2024 financial year, notably the security crisis in the Sahel region, which has impeded access to project areas. Furthermore, the withdrawal of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger from ECOWAS has posed additional hurdles.
