Kinshasa: The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Jacquemain Shabani, has urged leaders of provincial institutions to ensure stability within their structures. His call was made on Wednesday, May 7, in a letter addressed to the presidents of provincial assemblies and governors.
According to Radio Okapi, Jacquemain Shabani highlighted in his correspondence that certain provincial assemblies are experiencing instability due to the removal of their presidents. He encouraged provincial institution leaders to avoid power struggles and focus on the general interest, which he considers essential for comprehensive development.
In the same letter, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior reiterated the recommendations made by the President of the Republic. These recommendations emphasize the importance of maintaining institutional stability, especially during the ongoing conflict in the eastern part of the country. These suggestions were initially presented during the 11th Ordinary Session of the Governors’ Conference held last November in Kalemie, Tanganyika Province.
Additionally, earlier this week, the Vice President of the provincial assembly of Lomami was ousted following an altercation with the assembly’s rapporteur.
