Nairobi: Youth in Nairobi County have been reminded to submit their applications for the Climate Workx programme through an online portal, which is expected to close on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Nairobi County Commissioner (CC) David Wanyonyi emphasized the importance of the programme during a meeting at the Nyayo House Building.
According to Kenya News Agency, Commissioner Wanyonyi announced that the application process opened on June 6, 2025, and interested youths should apply via the portal links https://www.crsp.go.ke and https://crsp.e-granary.com/register. The programme has been active for eight months, having started in October of the previous year.
Wanyonyi highlighted that the initiative aims to recruit 48,392 youths in Nairobi County, including 21,943 who participated in an earlier programme. The current recruitment drive will target an additional 26,449 youths to work across the county’s 18 sub-counties. Additionally, 1,614 supervisors will be recruited from the National Youth Service.
The Commissioner detailed that the initiative targets youth aged 18 to 35 years, with all applicants receiving SMS notifications from Safaricom. Recruitment will be managed by sub-county committees, ensuring adherence to a 50:50 gender rule and inclusion of people with disabilities. No household will have more than two workers.
Projects under the programme include road maintenance, tree planting, seedling production, and seedbed production. The government aims to boost economic activity through the reintroduction of the Kazi Mtaani programme within the Climate Workx framework, providing daily wages for workers involved.
