State Minister for Animal Industry of Uganda Bright Rwamirama has hailed the efforts being carried out in Ethiopia to strengthen livestock development.

A Ugandan delegation led by the State Minister discussed with officials of the Ethiopian Agriculture Authority on Ethiopia’s experience in the areas of livestock development and other related issues.

Director General of the Authority, Diriba Kuma and other officials participated in the discussion, according to Ministry of Agriculture.

The discussion particularly has focused on Ethiopia’s livestock import-export inspection and certification systems as well as livestock health services.

The delegation has also exchanged views on the organizational structure of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture and its overall activities in livestock development.

During the occasion, Ugandan Minister of State for Animal Industry, Bright Rwamirama has hailed the efforts being carried out in Ethiopia to strengthen livestock development.

He also noted that efforts will be made to take lessons from Ethiopia’s experiences in the sector and implement them as per the realities in Uganda.

The State Minister further expressed Uganda’s strong desire to work with Ethiopia in livestock development activities.

The delegation has visited various livestock related institutions in Ethiopia and Abattoir companies engaged in export trade.
