Ouagadougou: The Tuy Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) recognized its most outstanding students and teachers for the 2024-2025 school year during the provincial excellence day held on October 31, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony saw 22 primary school students and 7 primary school teachers being honored alongside one literacy learner, one non-formal education facilitator, and one basic education district. N’Temoutin Nathalie Nelly Vogna, a student from Sainte-Therese de l’Enfant Jesus school, was highlighted as the top candidate for the 2025 Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) with an impressive average score of 9.44 out of 10. She was awarded a bicycle and a school kit for her achievements.
The best teacher award was given to Siaka Coulibaly from Founzan B school, who achieved a 100% pass rate for all 84 of his CEP exam candidates. His prizes included a motorcycle, a tablet, a certificate, and a tourist trip. Expressing her gratitude, N’Temoutin Nathalie Nelly, on behalf of the awardees, promised to uphold exemplary citizenship and continue striving for success.
The provincial director, Ladji Ouattara, expressed satisfaction with the continued tradition of excellence. He noted that Tuy province achieved a 93.43% pass rate on the 2025 CEP and an 86.99% pass rate on the non-formal education certification assessment, placing it at the top regionally. He highlighted the importance of recognizing educational efforts to support ongoing reforms and achieve desired outcomes, aligning with the theme of the event: “Academic Excellence in the Context of Implementing Educational Reforms: A Springboard for an Effective and Efficient School Serving the Nation.”
Dr. Hermann B. Lanou, the event sponsor and a researcher at the Institute of Health Sciences Research (IRSS), expressed his honor in supporting the initiative. He congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to be pioneers of progress and collective success. High Commissioner Issiaka Segda, presiding over the ceremony, lauded the education stakeholders for their excellent results and emphasized the need for discipline and focus among students.
The ceremony, which included performances of the anthem of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), revolutionary songs, slam poetry, and traditional dances, was attended by Soilliou Karantao, the regional director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Guiriko.
