Torla Triumphs in Inaugural Aristide Bance Cup with 2-0 Victory over Fingla FC

Ouaregou: The Torla team from Garango emerged victorious in the first edition of the Aristide Bance Cup, a tournament named after the former Burkinabe international football star. They defeated Fingla FC from Beguedo with a score of 2-0 on the Ouaregou pitch, as reported by the AIB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the final match of the tournament, known as the 72 Hours of International Aristide Bance, took place amid great anticipation on Sunday, August 31. The field was filled with spectators by 3 p.m., eager to witness the climax of the event. The final was graced by notable attendees, including Colonel Dabre and Ziguim Hermann Yabre, a patron from the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Employment.

Prior to the match, the head of the Ouaregou canton extended a warm welcome to Aristide Bance, the promoter of the tournament, and the distinguished guests who were present. The first half of the match saw both teams struggling to break the deadlock, but Torla managed to open the scoring after halftime and quickly doubled their lead. Despite persistent attacks from Fingla, the score remained 2-0 until the final whistle.

The triumph earned Torla a set of jerseys, two balls, gold medals, and a cash prize of 200,000 francs. The runner-up, Fingla, was awarded a set of jerseys, a ball, silver medals, and 150,000 francs. Torla’s team celebrated their victory on the journey back to their hometown, a distance of ten kilometers from Ouaregou.
