Accra: The Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has sent a heartfelt message to candidates sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). In a statement signed by the Speaker and copied to the Ghana News Agency, it wished the students success and encouraged them to believe in their abilities, the guidance of their teachers, and the power of God.
According to Ghana News Agency, the statement quoted Isaiah 41:10, urging the students to stay focused and motivated: ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’ It acknowledged the hard work and dedication the students had put into their studies, assuring them that their efforts would not be in vain. ‘Rest assured that your years of relentless academic pursuit will not be in vain, for hard work is the foundation for sweet success,’ it stated.
The statement also emphasized the importance of integrity, cautioning the students against examination malpractice. ‘The taste of victory is sweetest and the applause loudest when you win a race fairly and squarely,’ it noted. The statement concluded by quoting Speaker Bagbin by expressing Parliament’s commitment ‘to supporting the students’ growth and development, with the hope that they will assume leadership roles in the future, adding that ‘The glittering crown is in sight. Go and claim glory,’ he encouraged.
