Shabana FC Concludes Season with 1-1 Draw Against Ulinzi Stars

Kisii: Shabana Football Club concluded their 2024-2025 season with a 1-1 draw against Ulinzi Stars in the final fixture of the FKF Premier League at Gusii Stadium. The match, which took place on Sunday, saw both teams displaying competitive play, ending Shabana’s campaign in fifth place.

According to Kenya News Agency, Shabana FC, known as the Glamour Boys, was eager to secure three points, with Derrick Oketch scoring the opening goal in the 30th minute. However, Ulinzi Stars leveled the score in the 37th minute, concluding the first half at 1-1. The second half was marked by both teams’ attacking efforts and defensive strategies, but neither side managed to alter the scoreline.

The draw secured Shabana FC a fifth-place finish in the league with 53 points. Derrick Oketch, the midfielder and goalscorer, expressed gratitude for the support from fans, staff, and teammates, highlighting his growth as a player in his first season with the club. Brian Bett also acknowledged the fans’ support and remained optimistic about the club’s future prospects.

Shabana’s Head Coach, Peter Okidi, reflected on the season, acknowledging the challenges but expressing pride in the team’s performance. He emphasized the importance of fan support and the team’s commitment to returning stronger in the next season.
