Radio Okapi Launches Bana Education Program to Aid Students Affected by Conflict

Kinshasa: In an effort to support students preparing for the 2025 ENAFEP national exams, particularly those in the eastern regions of the country affected by armed conflict, Radio Okapi has introduced the Bana Education program. This initiative aims to help students practice and catch up on lessons from the primary school curriculum.

According to Radio Okapi, the program currently focuses on zoological sciences, emphasizing the importance of animals in maintaining ecological balance. The program teaches that animals worldwide are divided into two major groups: vertebrates and invertebrates. Invertebrates, such as flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, bees, and earthworms, lack a skeleton and blood.

Conversely, vertebrates, including dogs, mice, elephants, lions, ducks, and chickens, possess both a skeleton and blood. These vertebrates are further categorized into five classes: mammals, reptiles, amphibians (or batrachians), fish, and birds. The program offers detailed explanations and simulated exercises, which were featured in the Tuesday, May 7, 2025, broadcast.
