PS Isaboke Calls for Effective Service Delivery in Broadcasting and Telecommunications

Nairobi: Heads of Departments and Chief Executive Officers in the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications have been urged to ensure their sectors deliver on mandates, presidential directives, and key pillars of the Kenya Kwanza government. The new Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary, Stephen Isaboke, has committed to providing staff with the necessary resources and autonomy to effectively execute their duties.

According to Kenya News Agency, Isaboke emphasized the importance of understanding the pillars of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto, which President William Ruto is actively implementing. He highlighted the turnaround of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, restructuring of the Postal Corporation of Kenya, the digital economy, and the information superhighway as part of the five key pillars.

During a handing-over ceremony at the Ministry’s Headquarters at Telposta Towers, Isaboke, who succeeds Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani, encouraged teamwork, stating, “Let’s make the department great as it should be.” He assured staff of his support and attentiveness to their needs. The event was attended by department heads and CEOs from State Corporations within the department.

Prof. Kisiang’ani, now a Senior Advisor in the President’s Economic Council, handed over departmental documentation to Isaboke. He advised the new PS to ensure services reach citizens at the grassroots level in alignment with the government’s manifesto.

Isaboke tasked department heads with committing to agreed projects and programs, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the Kenya Kwanza manifesto to ensure the success of capital projects. He urged staff to support each other’s career and personal growth, fostering a healthy and productive work environment.

He also stressed the importance of proper document management, adherence to government regulations, and safeguarding staff from external pressures. Prof. Kisiang’ani pledged his support to the new PS and expressed confidence in the department’s officers to propel its progress. He also thanked President Ruto for the opportunities afforded to him to serve in various capacities.
