Nahouri: The Po Detention and Correction Center (MAC-Po) held a tribute ceremony on Monday, September 29, 2025, for five officers called to serve elsewhere. The ceremony was presided over by the director of the detention center, Assetou Ouattara.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the tribute began with a raising of the colors, as the staff of the remand center, led by Director Assetou Ouattara, honored the five officers transitioning to new responsibilities. Of these officers, two were successfully admitted to the professional competitions for student controllers, session 2025, while three others were assigned to serve in different locations.
Certificates of recognition were awarded to these individuals to acknowledge their exceptional contributions to the opening and operation of the MAC-Po, which commenced in November 2024. The outgoing commander of the Special Judicial Unit (USJ), prison security inspector Enoc Kabore, spoke on behalf of the departing officers, emphasizing the positive impact of their tenure at the institution.
Inspector Kabore commended the leadership of the facility’s first manager, highlighting their ability to foster team spirit and create an environment conducive to professional growth. Director Ouattara urged the officers moving on to continue embodying the values of professionalism, rigor, and self-sacrifice, which are central to their commitment to serving the nation.
She also encouraged the officers to apply the experiences gained at MAC-Po in their new roles and training environments. “Today, we pay tribute to the pioneers, to those who helped build the foundations of MAC-Po. Each of you, through your passage, leaves a mark on the history of this institution and on the collective memory of its teams,” remarked Assetou Ouattara.
