Koudougou: The Regional Culture Week (SRC) was officially launched this Thursday in Koudougou, during a ceremony held in the town hall banquet hall, AIB noted.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this event promises to be an unmissable event for promoting creativity and strengthening regional cultural heritage. Chaired by the Governor of the Adama region, Yves Bere, the ceremony brought together many personalities, including the Director General of the SRC, Christiane Sanon/Coulibaly, regional authorities, traditional and religious leaders, as well as the co-sponsor of the event, Koudbi Koala.

In his speech, Governor Bere, who is also president of the organizing committee and representing the patron of the event, Bassolma BAZIE (President of the national commission of the AES confederation), emphasized that the SRC is part of a strategy aimed at “strengthening creativity and the production of talent.” He urged the assembly to persevere in bequeathing the “great heritage” left by their ancestors to future generations. The governor also thanked cultural workers and urged artists to demonstrate “urgent discipline” and a “spirit of brotherhood.”

SRC Executive Director Christiane Sanon/Coulibaly presented the major innovations of this edition. These include the SRC’s calendar, now set for September to give artists more preparation time, the number of artistic disciplines open to the diaspora, which has increased from three to five, and the fact that candidates will now have to obtain a minimum score of 14/20 to qualify in the performing arts and creative arts disciplines.

The sponsors’ spokesperson, Koudbi Koala, welcomed the initiative of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, and emphasized the importance of this event for the artistic community. He called on the people of Nando to fully engage in the activities and support the artists.

The ceremony marks the beginning of a week full of cultural activities. In total, 37 troupes and artistic ensembles, 14 candidates in the discipline “18 Hands in Culinary Art,” and 99 traditional athletes are expected to liven up this edition of the regional cultural week.
