Makueni: The Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County Government of Makueni to improve emergency healthcare services in the area. The partnership agreement was signed by Makueni County Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili and EMKF Executive Director Dr. Benjamin Wachira at the County headquarters.
According to Kenya News Agency, the EMKF, a Non-Governmental Organization, focuses on supporting government’s emergency healthcare providers across Kenya. It aims to strengthen emergency care through training, research, advocacy, and system development. This collaboration is expected to guide the creation of County-Specific Emergency Medical Care and emergency medical services plans.
The agreement will also focus on training health workers and community health workers with emergency response knowledge. Additionally, it plans to establish a 24/7 centralized dispatch system to improve ambulance coordination and emergency response efficiency. Deputy Governor Mulili has described the collaboration as a game changer for the County’s health sector.
Present at the event was County Executive Committee Member for Health Services, Dr. Paul Musila, along with other county departmental officers.
