Knights and Ladies of Marshall Break Ground for Kindergarten at Ketan Catholic School

Sekondi-Takoradi: The Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, a Catholic-friendly society, has initiated the construction of a kindergarten block for Ketan Roman Catholic School. This development marks a significant milestone as part of their centenary celebration, which will culminate in November 2026.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project, referred to as the ‘legacy project,’ aligns with the society’s charitable mission towards the church and community. The planned kindergarten facility will feature a gated environment including a reception, infirmary, washrooms, a meeting room, E-learning facilities, and classrooms.

Sir Knight Edward A. Prah, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, explained that Sekondi-Takoradi was chosen for this project due to the Order’s historical ties to the area. He emphasized the importance of fostering early childhood development in cognitive, moral, spiritual, and societal aspects.

The Vicar-General of the Sekondi-Takoradi Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Fr. Francis Lemaire, representing Bishop Most Reverend John Baptist Attakruh, highlighted the facility’s role in shaping children capable of leading morally strong and upright lives, reinforcing the country’s identity as ‘a Christian nation.’ He expressed concern over increasing societal lapses and urged the church to instill good Christian and sound values in Ghanaians.

Additionally, Mr. Fredrick Faustinus Faidoo, Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, commended the Church for its long-standing support of societal needs.
