Kadjebi: A total of forty-six delegates are expected to vote during the Kadjebi District’s Ghana National Association of Teachers’ (GNAT) Executive election on Tuesday, May 27. The positions contested for include District Chairman, District Vice Chairman, District Treasurer, District Basic School representative, District SHS/SHTS representative, District Education and Administration representative, District Youth Coordinator, District GNAT-LAS, and District Trustee.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Anthony Kwame Agortimevor, the current Vice-Chairman, and Ms. Victoria Enyonam Klugah, the current Treasurer, are vying for the Chairmanship. Mr. Edem Egbadzor is running for the Vice-Chairman position unopposed. Contenders for the District Treasurer post are Ms. Asong Mawuse Adzo and Mr. Deh Philip Kodwo, while Mr. Amenu Stephen Kass and Mr. Dossou Bright are competing for the District Trustee position.
Mr. Shadrach Oppong-Nyarko, Ibrahim Wahab, Gustav Ampofo, Ms. Priscilla Yayra Bonuedi, and Derrick Yaw Akpo are contesting unopposed for the positions of District Basic School representative, District Education and Administration representative, District SHS/SHTS representative, District GNAT-LAS, and District Youth Coordinator, respectively.
Mr. Phillip Obornie, the current Kadjebi District GNAT Chairman, speaking to the GNA, indicated that Professor Foster Agbenyo, a Lecturer at the Wa Campus of the University of Development Studies (UDS), will be the guest speaker. The newly elected officers will oversee the Association’s activities for the next four years.
