Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie conferred with Dr. Julius W. Garvey, son of Marcus Garvey who was the preeminent activist of 20th century Black struggle for freedom, at his office today.

Ambassador Taye appreciated the huge role of Marcus Garvey as a proponent of Pan-Africanism movements and the subsequent black people liberation efforts.

The Foreign Minister also stated that pioneer black Pan-Africanist forefathers should be remembered and reverenced.

Dr. Julius W. Garvey on his part expressed the deep connection of black people all over the world with Ethiopia.

It is to be recalled that this past weekend in Addis Ababa, Dr. Julius W. Garvey was named guardian of the Global Black History, Heritage and Education Center.
