Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has received the United Nigeria Airlines inaugural flight scheduled to operate on the Accra-Abuja-Lagos route. The airline was welcomed with the symbolic water canon salute performed by the Rescue and Firefighting Service section of Ghana Airports Company Limited.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of GACL, stated that the commencement of flight operations on the Accra-Abuja-Lagos route demonstrates the growing confidence in Ghanas aviation industry. She highlighted that it further reinforces efforts to position Ghana as a preferred aviation hub in West Africa.
Mrs Opare emphasized that the arrival of United Nigeria Airlines marks the beginning of a new era of convenience and efficiency. She noted that it offers passengers more travel options and greater connectivity between the regions most vibrant cities. She extended sincere appreciation to United Nigeria Airlines for their confidence in the Ghanaian market and acknowledged the support of all partners who made the event possible.
The event was attended by government officials from both countries and a host of other dignitaries.
