Assin Fosu: Mr Gariba Adams, the President’s nominee, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a unanimous 100 percent endorsement for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly in the Central Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, all 22 Assembly Members, comprising 15 elected officials and seven government appointees, cast their votes in favor of Mr Adams. The election witnessed the presence of traditional leaders, prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the clergy, and local residents, showcasing widespread support for the nominee.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Adams expressed his gratitude to the assembly members for their confidence in him. He committed to addressing key challenges facing the municipality, specifically highlighting issues related to sanitation, youth unemployment, and infrastructure development.
Mr Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, the Central Regional Minister, urged the newly endorsed MCE to collaborate closely with t
he assembly members and local chiefs to expedite development efforts and positively impact the lives of the community members. He assured Mr Adams of his support and extended his best wishes for success in his new role.
The endorsement of Mr Adams follows the unsuccessful bid of the first nominee, Mrs Charlotte Boakye, who only garnered five out of the 22 votes cast.
