Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen held a bilateral discussion this afternoon with Cameroonian Foreign Minister, Lejeune Mbella Mbella at the Ethiopian Embassy in Kenya, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They discussed on ways of further cementing cooperation on bilateral, continental and multilateral issues.

Demeke and Mbella, who are in Nairobi to take part in the upcoming 43rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union to be held from 13-14 July 2023, agreed to further cement longstanding diplomatic relations. Among others, they agreed to resume political consultations.

Demeke said, Ethiopia accords special attention to its relation with the West African country, the ministry said.

He also briefed his counterpart on the progress of the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement and lauded Cameroon’s support on international fora.
