Eid-ul-Adha: Northern Regional Chief Imam Urges Muslims to Uphold Values of Generosity

Tamale: Sheikh Abdul-Salam Ahmed, Northern Regional Chief Imam, has urged Muslims to uphold the values of generosity, humility, and righteousness. He made the call when he led Muslims in prayer in Tamale to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

According to Ghana News Agency, Sheikh Ahmed encouraged all Muslims to feed the hungry, shelter the needy, educate their children, and maintain the integrity of Islam. Mr. Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister, urged Muslims to reflect on the true meaning of the occasion, emphasizing that it was not just a time for celebrations but an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, righteousness, and unity.

The Regional Minister used the occasion to call on religious leaders to support the government’s efforts at combating the growing menace of drug misuse and abuse in the country. He expressed concern about the rising cases of substance abuse, especially the use of tramadol and other synthetic opioids in the region, saying it was destroying the dreams and future of many young people.
