Amasaman: The Word Alive Bible College recently hosted its fifth Annual Christian Easter School, where Reverend Professor Clement Owusu Sarpong emphasized the importance of Christians embracing the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. The event, held at the college’s premises in Fise near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality, Greater Accra Region, focused on the theme, ‘Appropriating the Power of the Resurrection.’
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Prof. Sarpong, the Founder and Leader of the College, highlighted that faith in the resurrection power could empower Christians to address various afflictions, including spiritual, physical, financial, sexual, and mental challenges. Supported by the Independent Non-Denominational Council Ghana and Lucas Seminary, the program aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of this transformative power.
Rev. Prof. Sarpong asserted, “The resurrection power is real and it’s the greatest power in the world,” suggesting that Christians could potentially reduce their reliance on fasting and prayers by truly understanding and appropriating this power. He further elaborated on the necessity of knowing Jesus as the God of creation and acknowledging His ultimate authority.
Quoting scripture, Rev. Prof. Sarpong noted, “Anything dead can never auto-resurrect, except God,” referencing John 10:17 from the English Standard Version. He encouraged believers to have faith in God’s power to resurrect what they consider dead in their lives, asserting that appropriating this power is more effective than fasting or prayer alone.
Apostle Dr Atta Frimpong Blessing, Chairman of INDeC-Ghana and guest of honor, praised the college for organizing the event and encouraged young pastors to seek comprehensive gospel education at the institution.
