Bamenda: On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Cameroon military forces ambushed and killed an individual alleged to be a Banso (from Bui division) Amba Boy in Mile 3 Nkwen, Bamenda. The victim, reportedly an escapee from the Bui Unity Warriors in Sop, Jakiri-Sop Division, was accused of harassing civilians, including bike riders, and extorting money.

According to Cameroon News Agency, eyewitnesses claim the individual was responsible for kidnappings and torture in the neighborhood around St. Paul Secondary School Nkwen. The military reportedly recovered a phone from the victim, which they allegedly used to track other suspects.

Some residents expressed relief over the incident, while others were concerned about the potential repercussions on the security situation in the area, fearing that the victim’s friends might seek revenge.
