Accra: Mr Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, has announced the establishment of an Exploratory Committee to evaluate the potential of his candidacy for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by Mr Adomako Kissie, Spokesman to the MP, highlighted that Bryan Acheampong’s career is characterized by results rather than noise. Over the last two decades, he has emerged as a dependable and effective figure within the NPP, with a trajectory that reflects ambition and preparation for national leadership.
The statement elaborated that the Exploratory Committee will engage stakeholders, particularly at the grassroots level, to assess the alignment between Acheampong’s vision and the aspirations of party members and the Ghanaian public. The committee is expected to deliver its findings within four weeks. Acheampong emphasized the importance of unity and a renewed commitment to the NPP’s core values at this pivotal juncture.

lined his extensive service to the NPP, stating that he has supported numerous initiatives and helped shape impactful policies. His journey from grassroots organizer to Member of Parliament, and his roles as Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security and Minister of Food and Agriculture, have bolstered his reputation as a dedicated party member and national leader.
During his tenure at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Acheampong introduced strategies to enhance food production, address inflation in food prices, and support farmer resilience, which are crucial in the current high-cost-of-living era. Beyond government roles, he is also recognized for his entrepreneurial success with the Rock City Hotel project in Kwahu, which has elevated tourism infrastructure standards in Ghana.
His neutrality amid ongoing factionalism within the NPP positions him as a potential unifying figure, a trait that party elders believe is essential for mending internal divisions ahead of 2028. Acheampong expressed
confidence in the party’s ability to overcome challenges and lead Ghana towards a brighter future, urging members to remain steadfast in spirit and decorous in conduct.
While awaiting the Exploratory Committee’s findings, the statement described Acheampong’s announcement as a natural progression of his commitment to public service and party building. As the NPP evaluates its future leadership, voters and delegates will need to consider experience, loyalty, and delivery, traits that many believe Acheampong embodies.
