Africa Skills Hub Foundation Honored as Leading Advocate for Youth Empowerment

Accra: Africa Skills Hub Foundation (ASH) has been recognized as the Most Outstanding Community Advocate of Youth Empowerment at the prestigious Ghana Outstanding Community Leadership Conference and Awards held in Accra. The accolade highlights the foundation’s significant contributions to youth development and economic inclusion throughout Ghana, impacting both rural and urban communities.

According to Ghana News Agency, the award underscores Africa Skills Hub’s innovative approach to empowering young individuals by providing them with essential skills, entrepreneurship support, and leadership development tools necessary for thriving in today’s economic landscape. In a statement released by Ms. Perfect Dadugblor, Communications Officer for ASH, the organization expressed its gratitude for the recognition. “We are honoured to receive the Most Outstanding Community Advocate of Youth Empowerment Award,” remarked Mr. Daniel Amoako Antwi, Executive Director of Africa Skills Hub Foundation.

Mr. Antwi dedicated this achievement to the youth they have collaborated with, the communities served, and the partners who support their vision of inclusive growth. He emphasized their ongoing commitment to skill-building and opportunity creation across Ghana, pointing out that their initiatives span over 16 regions, training approximately 16,000 youth and 13,000 women in various sectors including agribusiness, digital marketing, and innovation-led entrepreneurship.

The impact of Africa Skills Hub’s programs is evident, with a reported 60 percent increase in job creation and employment among participants over the past nine years. The foundation’s approach combines hands-on learning with extensive aftercare services covering regulatory, IT, financial, legal, market access, and intellectual property support. Additionally, ASH manages a micro-credit fund to assist youth and women-led businesses, demonstrating its commitment to overcoming structural challenges through evidence-based solutions.

Looking forward, the organization aims to expand its impact by forming new partnerships, embracing digital innovations, and developing inclusive enterprise accelerators to meet the evolving needs of young Africans. Mr. Antwi stated that this recognition strengthens their resolve to enhance opportunities for youth and women throughout Ghana.

He also acknowledged the Business Executive Group, organizers of the Ghana Most Outstanding Community Awards, for recognizing the importance of youth empowerment in Ghana.
