Felix Kwakye Ofosu Donates Maths Sets to BECE Students in AAK

Abura-Asebu: Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District, has donated 3,000 pieces of maths sets to students writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in AAK. He stated that the donation is part of his commitment to supporting the students, aiming to ease their examination experience.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ofosu emphasized that the donation alleviates some of the burdens from parents and guardians, encouraging students to enter the examination room with confidence. He urged the students to prepare diligently and assured them that those who perform well would be rewarded with prizes and scholarships. Additionally, he contributed GHS10,000.00 to support the invigilators and supervisors overseeing the examination process.

Mrs. Juliette Dufie Otami, Central Regional Director of Education, expressed gratitude for the donation and committed to ensuring the swift distribution of the maths sets to candidates. She highlighted that the initiative of providing one maths set per candidate would equip students adequately and reduce noise caused by borrowing during exams. The cash donation, she added, would be used to provide meals for invigilators and supervisors, aiming to curtail examination malpractices.

Mr. Thomas Mensah Wardy, District Chief Executive of AAK, advised the candidates to approach the examination with confidence while avoiding malpractices. A total of 2,847 candidates are expected to sit for the BECE in the AAK district on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 09:00 hours.
