Adidokpui: The Ghana News Agency (GNA), Ghana’s premier news hub, has been commended for exposing challenges faced by communities in Ghana. Such expos©s which lead to prompt interventions by individuals, corporate organisations, and non-profit organisations, are commendable.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Alfred Odikro Klu, the Agortime-Ziope District Chief Executive (DCE), made the commendation during the commissioning of an ultramodern mechanised water system at Adidokpui, a farming community in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region. Qatar Charity funded the project after GNA’s publication entitled ‘Adidokpui residents appeal for potable, accessible water,’ dated August 10, 2024.

Mr. Odikro said the GNA’s reporting on the needs of rural communities is commendable and pledged to collaborate with the Agency for more expos©s. He stated that the money the Assembly would channel into the provision of such facilities is saved due to interventions from these benevolent organisations.

Torgbui Adzolo Akaba III, the Chief of Adidokpui, also applauded the news hub for its disclosures. Torgbui Akaba, who oversees five other communities, including Nyitawuta, Dzadobui, Wuga, Adzorvi, and Korstrala, noted that those communities also lack safe water and, therefore, appealed for similar facilities for them.
