Dodowa: The Shai-Osudoku District Education Directorate, in collaboration with the Graduates and Professionals of Ga-Dangme Network (GPGD), has organised an educational sensitisation seminar to empower candidates of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The seminar aimed to prepare candidates psychologically for their final exams and to enlighten them about the senior school computerised selection and placement process.
According to Ghana News Agency, officials from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mr. Joseph Dzaka and Mr. Raimi Dauda, provided insights on effective strategies for examination success. They emphasized the importance of good examination techniques, including time management and question selection, while also addressing common mistakes to avoid and strategies for managing stress during exams.
Madam Harriet Lomotey, the Shai-Osudoku District Director of Education, encouraged the BECE candidates to remain steadfast during the exams, highlighting that their hard work has prepared them well for this moment. She described the BECE as a testament to their growth and resilience and urged them to believe in themselves and stay focused. Madam Lomotey expressed gratitude to teachers, parents, and guardians for their support, which she noted has been crucial in shaping the candidates’ minds.
Mr. Emmanuel Obodai, the President of GPGD, advised the candidates to explore various paths to success beyond traditional academics. He highlighted the government’s Free Apprenticeship Programme as a valuable opportunity for skill acquisition and announced a scholarship scheme for students pursuing studies in the Ga-Dangme language. This initiative aims to preserve indigenous culture through education and includes job placement opportunities for beneficiaries.
