Narok: At least 400 women from Majengo estate in Narok town have received food donations from the Narok Peace Association group in collaboration with Natasha Hands of Compassion organization.
According to Kenya News Agency, Narok Peace Association ambassador Joshua Kaputa stated that the beneficiaries were women from vulnerable backgrounds who could not afford regular meals for their families. He highlighted that the recipients included widows, single mothers, and families facing extreme poverty, adding that the food donations were a small gesture of love towards the community. Kaputa expressed hope that their efforts, though modest, would bring blessings to all involved.
Reverend Lucy Natasha, Founder of Natasha Hands of Compassion, shared her personal story, recalling her upbringing in the Mathare slums of Nairobi County. Her experiences with food insecurity as a child inspired her to establish the charitable organization, aiming to assist those in need. Natasha underscored her commitment to helping vulnerable individuals, motivated by her understanding of the challenges women face in impoverished environments.
Natasha emphasized her organization’s dedication to serving both God and humanity, expressing that compassion drives their mission. She reassured the community that their efforts in Narok would continue, aiming to be a source of blessing. Furthermore, Natasha announced plans to empower the women through training on income-generating projects, such as soap and yogurt making, and providing small incentives like seed capital.
Beneficiaries like Jane Wangechi expressed gratitude towards the organizations, acknowledging the support as a reflection of divine love. Another recipient, Margaret Wambui, urged the organizations to persist in their support, aiming to uplift needy families towards financial stability.
The distribution exercise was conducted at Masikonte Primary School in Narok town.
